Hello all,
I’m asking a big favour and the support of my family and friends, my co-workers
and clients.
In 2003 my Dad was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. A huge shock to our family.
Luckily he was already enrolled in a prostate cancer research study in London,
Ontario and during one of his scheduled exams it was determined he actually had
the disease. If it hadn’t been for his willingness to join a program devoted
to the future of men’s health we may have lost him. Luckily it was diagnosed
in its infancy and after having surgery to remove his prostate he has been cancer
free for the past four years. And I just can’t describe how grateful our
family is to be able to say that!
His foresight in prostate cancer research and his courage to battle the disease
is my inspiration to grow a Mo! During Movember – the month formerly know
as November – I’ll be growing a Mo (slang for Moustache). I’m
asking for the support of all of you to sponsor my Mo for the benefit of men’s
health around the world. In Canada alone, around 22,300 men are diagnosed with
prostrate cancer and approximately 4,300 die of the disease each year, making
it the number one cancer threat to Canadian men.
